Bruin Guardian Scholars (BGS) is UCLA's comprehensive support program for students who have experienced foster care, kinship care, legal guardianship, probation foster care, housing instability, or who have navigated higher education independently without family support.

Our mission is to ensure that every student has the resources, community, and opportunities needed to thrive at UCLA and beyond. Through individualized support, scholarships, housing assistance, academic guidance, career development, and community-building programs, BGS helps students achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals.

At BGS, students find more than services. They find a community. We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their UCLA journey.
